Anaheim police shooting protesters picket Disneyland
July 30, 2012Protesters converged on Disneyland on Saturday as anger continues over the police shootings that set off a week of unrest in Anaheim.
This protest was peaceful, and organizations vow to avoid more violence as they plan more demonstrations Sunday.
They also held an event at La Palma Avenue and Anna Drive, close to the location where Manuel Diaz, 25, was fatally shot July 21 after police said the unarmed man was evading arrest.

“I think a lot of people are frustrated and have a lot to say,” said Adam Lerman, a rally organizer with the group Coalition to Defend Affirmative Action, Integration and Immigrant Rights and Fight for Equality By Any Means Necessary.
Protests over police conduct have rocked Orange County’s largest city since the Diaz shooting. A day later, police shot and killed Joel Acevedo, 21; police say he fired on officers during a foot chase. On Tuesday night, about 1,000 demonstrators clashed with police outside a City Council meeting, leading to arrests and property damage in the area.
On Saturday afternoon, a group on demonstrators picketed in front of Disneyland.
“Disneyland is the financial power behind Anaheim” and the purpose for the protest is to pressure the company to acknowledge the recent events, Abigail Diaz, whose nephew was killed by officers, told KTLA News.
