Man who claimed to be Miley Cyrus’ husband charged with trespassing
September 10, 2012The man allegedly found hiding in the bushes of singer-actress Miley Cyrus’ Studio City home is facing criminal charges of trespassing and resisting arrest.
Los Angeles City Atty. Carmen Trutanich’s office filed two counts of misdemeanor trespassing and one count of resisting arrest Monday against Jason Luis Rivera after he was captured by Los Angeles police Saturday after allegedly entering the property.
Officers responded to a radio call of a prowler at the residence, LAPD Deputy Chief Jorge Villegas said. Upon seeing the officers, the man fled and hid in some bushes, where officers apprehended him, Villegas said.
KTLA caught the arrest on video. While being arrested, he said: “I am a friend of Miley Cyrus. I am. She’s my wife. Me and Miley have been friends for five years.” Sources say he is an obsessed fan and will be the subject of a court order to keep away from the singer.
The man had a pair of scissors when he was apprehended, officials said. Cyrus was not at home during the alleged early morning property invasion.
